Dear Mr. Lemony Snicket,

I have read your entire Unfortunate Events series of books.  Your books taught me that there may be people in the world that will do anything to get what they want.  In your books, Count Olaf, a man I'm guessing is about 39 years old, tried to marry a rich young 14 year old girl.   He wasn't trying to marry her because he loved her, but because she was very rich.  After he married her, Count Olaf's plan was to kill her so he could have all the money.   In one of the books, he kills the children's uncle so he can become their guardian again.

The kids in your books were very clever and got out of difficult situations.  The oldest child, Violet, made a promise to her parents that she would keep her brother and sister safe.  I liked how they were always able to outsmart and beat Count Olaf.

Sincerely,

Casey Doyle
