Kansas Teacher of the Year team tells your story!

Keep Kids First in Kansas. That message was sent to state lawmakers by the 2009 Kansas Teacher of the Year Team amid discussions of potential cuts to education funding in the state legislative budget.

The 2009 team, pictured below at a KNEA sponsored luncheon, were able to share stories from their classrooms regarding their passion for kids and teaching. They answered questions from representatives of House and Senate Education Committees on school funding, stressing the gains in student achievement that has resulted from the increased funding in the past few years.  After presenting to the education committees, the team was recognized in the Senate.

The 2009 KTOY Team started a blog of their travels. See it here!
