Review: Devorah, a Hasidic Jew, and Jaxon, an African American, are drawn to each other after being forced to wait out a storm in the same elevator. They continue to meet, and to risk everything, by deceiving their families. Their relationship deepens, but Devorah ends up being sent away, and both young people must reevaluate their relationship. Realistic dialogue conveys wonderful relationships that are strained with friction between cultures and challenges to family boundaries. What happens is truly remarkable and worth the read.
