  • Common Core Takes Flight with Arts Integration - The Kansas Alliance for the Arts in Education (KSAAE) is providing a workshop on September 21, 2013, at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.
  • Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) Changes - with changes enacted by HB 2333 this last legislative session, KPERS is busy getting the word out to members about the upcoming changes.
  • 2013 Kansas Safe, Healthy and Prepared SchoolsConference - Registration is now open for the 6th Annual Safe, Healthy and Prepared Schools Conference to be held September 16-17, 2013, at the Manhattan Conference Center, 410 S 3rd Street, Manhattan, Kansas.
  • Exploration Design Challenge - In March, NASA launched an exciting new partnership with Lockheed Martin to engage students in America's next phase of human space exploration. The Exploration Design Challenge (EDC) invites students from kindergarten through 12th grade to learn more about one of the biggest challenges NASA faces before sending humans beyond low-Earth orbit: space radiation.
  • Master Teacher Project - NEA and BetterLesson are jointly launching a Master Teacher Project (MTP). The MTP is part of NEA's comprehensive association-wide strategy to galvanize our commitment to ensuring student success.
  • Teaching and Learning International Survey¬† TALIS is conducted by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OCDE). TALIS is the ONLY international survey on the conditions of teaching and learning - without these data, we would be unable to identify other countries facing similar challenges and to learn from other police approaches. In addition, without TALIS teachers and school leaders would lack a key venue for voicing their views on teaching and learning to political decision-makers.
  • NEA Foundation launches two new courses¬† NEA launched two new NEA Foundation Courses: Effective School-Community Collaboration and Facilitating Effective Labor-Management Teams. These courses are free and available on their website.
