KNEA Leadership Academy - Class of 2009

Mid-career teachers have new leadership opportunities within KNEA. KNEA is pleased to announce its first Leadership Academy is accepting nominations for the "Class of 2009." 

This program is designed to target mid-career educators who are ready to expand their influence and impact, develop leadership skills, and become more involved in their profession through the Association. 

Do you know a promising emerging leader with 10 or more years of experience in the profession AND who is planning to remain in public education for at least five more years?  If so, PLEASE nominate her/him to attend the Academy! 

The deadline for receiving online applications is Decembr 4, 2008.

The Details:

Some aspects of the training and/or follow-up may involve work online.  Participants should have high speed internet access and the knowledge and skills to use the internet to interact with colleagues online.

• Participants who are accepted into the leadership academy will be reimbursed for travel expenses to attend each of the three sessions/modules of the training in Topeka.
• Discussions are in progress to make graduate credit available (at the participant's expense).
• The academy will consist of THREE (3) sessions (30 hours contact time) and participants must agree to attend all of the three sessions: 

 Friday, Feb 27, 2009 - 6PM to 8PM
 Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 - 9AM to 4PM

 Monday, June 8, 2009 - 1PM to 9PM
 Tuesday, June 9, 2009 - 9AM to 12 Noon

 Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 - 6PM to 8PM
 Saturday, Oct, 10, 2009 - 9AM to 4PM

Additional logistical information will be provided to applicants who are accepted into the Academy.
